Just finished watching 'The Kennedys', its like a short biography split into 8 episodes about the presidency of JFK, as well as giving the viewers a taste on how he carried about in his private life.
Personally i have a very very very strong interest in US foreign policy and everything to do with their government, its my favourite aspect of politics, and just watching the presidency of JFK makes me and keeps me more intrigued.
In short, a way or statement in which i could summarise how i feel about them: i think that the Kennedy's with Jackie O as the first lady, was America's only chance and opportunity of having a royal family. there is no denial in the way in which Jackie O carried herself and managed the white house, it was a piece of cake for her. the refurbishment, the children, the social life, the campaigning and of course her iconic fashion sense. I truly respect this woman.
She started new trends, and owned her fashion. she was a true queen in her own sense.
She managed to sleep at night knowing her husband had an affair with only the most desirable woman at the time; Marilyn Monroe.
Takes a true trooper to be able to get some sleep at night with that in mind.
The ability she had in her to put on a happy face in public watch women throw themselves at the father of her children, there is no word to describe her.
This just goes on to prove the strength and courage of a woman, sacrificing her own right of happiness to her husbands success. Definitely an inspiration to all women, and an IDOL.
JFK's presidency leaves a mark in all hearts of those that were once hopeful of a new way of ruling, a true 'new' world order.
Sadly we have not come to see the continuity of his policies in our world today.
He had a natural charisma about him.
one that would not infringe on rights of others, but emphasise the importance of them. JFK couldn't have said it in better words : " It is not a victory of might, but a vindication of rights"
i strongly suggest you watch this, i promise you wont be bored :) !
love and peace
